Established in 2006, the Keystone State Education Coalition is a growing grass roots, non-partisan public education advocacy group of several hundred locally elected, volunteer school board members and administrators from school districts throughout Pennsylvania. Our mission is to evaluate, discuss and inform our boards, district constituents and legislators on legislative issues of common interest and to facilitate active engagement in public education advocacy.
Congratulations and thanks to these folks for their commitment, service and willingness to invest multiple years of their time as PSBA officers:

PSBA White Paper Recommends Changes to CharterSchool Funding
The Education Research and PolicyCenter of the Pennsylvania School Boards Association issued its third white paper this week. This is the second white paper that's examined Pennsylvania's charter schools.
The second white paper by the ERPC (October 2009) examined the performance of charter schools in the commonwealth, while the current publication indicates that the funding formula for charter schools needs to be overhauled in order to make it more equitable for tax payers and for school districts.
The commonwealth’s continuing investment in early childhood education is providing a strong foundation for young children to start school ready to learn and boosting the academic success of at-risk children, according to the Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts year-end report released today by acting Education Secretary Thomas E. Gluck.
