Archdiocese doesn't want charter school at empty building

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is not interested in renting out the former Immaculate Conception Grade School in Bristol Township to a group that wants to start a charter school, archdiocesan spokeswoman Donna Farrell said.  Farrell said a K-8 charter school could hurt enrollment at area Catholic grade schools and that the archdiocese would essentially be hurting itself by renting out one of its empty buildings for a charter school.

Ninth-graders in Council Rock who want to play sports can attend varsity and junior varsity tryouts and preseason practices for fall sports, which begin Monday, the district's website said.
