Monday, May 9, you can join us on a free bus leaving from lower Bucks County and Philadelphia to D.C. to rally in support of public education and against vouchers.

Dear Friends,

Thanks again for signing our petition opposed to Gov. Corbett's $1.2B cuts to basic education and the 50% cut to higher education funding.  Over 34,000 signed it.  Education Voters PA and Penn ACTION are working on a plan, which we will announce Monday, to take advantage of this huge petition to get more attention for our fight for public schools.

Today I want to tell those of you in the southeastern part of the state about an exciting opportunity:

On Monday, May 9, you can join us on a free bus leaving from lower Bucks County and Philadelphia to D.C. to rally in support of public education and against vouchers.  Governor Corbett and Wisconsin Governor Walker are speaking at a pro-voucher conference paid for by a handful of rich opponents of the public schools. This our opportunity to tied what is happening to our schools in PA to a larger, nationwide fight over support for public education and the public sector.

Details, are below.  We are looking for parents, teachers and college students who may be interested in speaking at the rally or on national TV and radio.  If you are able to share your voice for this important cause, please contact Marc Stier at MarcStier@pennaction.org.

Please join us on Monday for this terrific opportunity to stand up for public education!
