HARRISBURG — What a difference a few days can make.
When state lawmakers rolled into town Monday, it was widely expected the Senate would sign off on a school vouchers bill and send it to the House, putting the bill into position for final approval by late June.
Four days later — and after an unusual intercession from Gov.Tom Corbett  Republicans who control the state Senate say they're looking for a clear sign his administration supports the bill now before the chamber. GOP leaders also are looking to assuage concerns from rank-and-file senators skittish over the cost and scope of the legislation.

District announces givebacks, concessions and reductions

Council Rock School District officials announced on Wednesday that teachers and administrators agreed to $1.1 million in givebacks and concessions, one of many moves to help the district close a multimillion-dollar deficit.

Dinniman To Hold Rally for Education on April 27th
Public Rally Set for 7 p.m. on the Steps of the Chester County Courthouse
WEST CHESTER (April 11) – State Senator Andy Dinniman announced today that he will hold a rally for residents opposed to Governor Corbett's proposed budget cuts to education on Wednesday, April 27 at 7 p.m. on the steps of the Chester County Courthouse (corner of High and Market Streets) in West Chester.
